What Corporate Video Production Actually Costs In India
Nobody publishes rates in this industry, so every first conversation starts with a guess. Here are the bands we actually work within, and what moves them.
Almost nobody in Indian video production publishes rates. The result is that every first conversation starts with both sides guessing, and a lot of projects die in that gap rather than over anything real.
So here are the bands we work within, what moves a number up or down inside them, and the line items that quietly inflate a quote after you have already said yes.
The Price Bands
| What you are buying | Typical range |
|---|---|
| Talking-head or interview film, one location, one day | ₹75,000 to ₹2,50,000 |
| Product film, studio, no talent | ₹1,00,000 to ₹4,00,000 |
| Brand film with talent, multiple locations | ₹4,00,000 to ₹15,00,000 |
| 2D animated explainer, 60 to 90 seconds | ₹1,20,000 to ₹4,50,000 |
| 3D product animation, 30 to 60 seconds | ₹2,50,000 to ₹10,00,000 |
| AI-generated product imagery and short video | ₹40,000 to ₹2,00,000 |
| Event coverage, one day, edited highlights | ₹60,000 to ₹2,00,000 |
The spread inside each row is wide on purpose, because it is real. Two studios quoting the same brief at ₹1,00,000 and ₹4,00,000 are usually not quoting the same work.
What Actually Moves The Number
Shoot days
This is the single biggest lever, and it is the one clients underestimate most. A crew, kit and location cost the same whether you use six hours or twelve. Two shoot days is close to twice the money, not twenty percent more. Consolidating a shoot is the cheapest saving available to you.
Talent and licensing
A face in the film brings a fee and a usage term. A two-year, all-media, all-India licence costs considerably more than six months of digital. Most quotes assume the short term, so read the term before comparing two numbers.
Animation minutes
Animation is priced by finished second, not by project. Sixty seconds of 3D is not twice thirty seconds, because the modelling is front-loaded, but ninety is meaningfully more than sixty. Cut the script before you cut the quality.
Revision rounds
Two rounds is standard. The third and fourth are where budgets quietly go, and they are almost always caused by the wrong people seeing the film for the first time at the wrong stage.
Music and stock licensing
Library music for commercial use is a real line item. Original composition costs more and removes the risk of hearing your track in a competitor's ad.
The Five Line Items That Inflate A Quote Later
- Versioning. A sixteen by nine master, a nine by sixteen cut, a one by one cut and three durations is four to seven extra deliverables. Ask for them in the original brief and they are cheap. Ask afterwards and they are a change order.
- Subtitles and language versions. Burned-in subtitles per language, plus a voiceover if you want one, is per-language work every time.
- Extended usage. A film licensed for digital that later runs on television is a new licence, sometimes for the talent and the music both.
- Rush delivery. Compressing three weeks into one usually means overtime rather than efficiency, and it is normally priced at a premium.
- Additional stakeholders. Every extra approver adds a revision round in practice, whatever the contract says.
We quote fixed scope and fixed timelines, with the versioning and licensing written into the first number rather than the third.
Start A ConversationWhat A Good Quote Looks Like
A quote you can actually compare has five things in it: the number of shoot days, the number of finished deliverables including aspect ratios and durations, the number of revision rounds, the usage term and territory, and the delivery date with the approval dates that make it possible.
If a quote is one line and one number, it is not cheaper. It is just deferring the conversation to a point where you have less leverage. There is a full breakdown of what to put in the brief in our guide to briefing a production company.
Where AI Genuinely Changes The Maths
For product imagery and short product video, AI production has moved real money. A catalogue shoot that would have needed a studio day, a stylist and a photographer can now be a fraction of that, and for a lot of e-commerce use cases the output is indistinguishable at the size it is actually viewed.
Where it has not changed the maths is anywhere a human has to appear and be believed, anywhere a real physical space matters, and anywhere the film is carrying a brand rather than a SKU. We wrote up the honest comparison in AI product photography versus a real shoot.
Common questions
- How much does a corporate video cost in India?
- Most single corporate films land between ₹75,000 and ₹4,00,000 depending on shoot days, talent and animation. Brand films with talent and multiple locations run higher.
- Why do two studios quote so differently for the same brief?
- Usually because they are quoting different work. Check shoot days, deliverable count, revision rounds and the usage term before comparing the totals.
- Is it cheaper to shoot everything in one day?
- Almost always. Crew, kit and location are day-rate costs, so consolidating a shoot is the cheapest saving available on most projects.
- Do you publish fixed prices?
- We quote fixed scope and fixed timelines per project rather than a rate card, because the variables above genuinely change the number. What we do not do is leave versioning and licensing out of the first quote.
