What Creative Design Actually Costs In India

Almost nobody in this industry publishes rates, so every first conversation starts with a guess. Here are the bands the market actually works within, and what moves them.

Almost nobody in Indian creative design publishes rates. The result is that every first conversation starts with both sides guessing, and a lot of good projects die in that gap rather than over anything real.

So here are the bands the market works within, what moves a number up or down inside them, and the line items that quietly inflate a quote after you have already said yes.

The Price Bands

What you are buyingTypical range
Social media post designs, a monthly set of 12 to 15₹15,000 to ₹60,000
Ad creative set, one concept in 6 to 10 sizes and variants₹10,000 to ₹50,000
Logo and brand identity system₹40,000 to ₹3,00,000
AI product imagery, a batch of 10 to 20 finished images₹25,000 to ₹1,50,000
AI product film, 15 to 30 seconds₹30,000 to ₹1,50,000
UGC-style ad with an AI presenter, 15 to 30 seconds₹15,000 to ₹75,000
Website or app UI design, 5 to 10 screens₹75,000 to ₹4,00,000
2D animated explainer, 60 to 90 seconds₹1,20,000 to ₹4,50,000
Typical all-in cost for finished, ready-to-run work

The spread inside each row is wide on purpose, because it is real. Two studios quoting the same brief at ₹20,000 and ₹80,000 are usually not quoting the same work.

What Actually Moves The Number

  1. Concepts, not sizes

This is the single biggest lever and the one clients misread most. A new idea is expensive, because it is thinking. Resizing an approved idea into nine more formats is cheap, because it is craft. One strong concept in ten sizes costs far less than three concepts in three sizes, and it usually performs better too.

  2. Whether a brand system exists

With guidelines, fonts, colours and a few approved layouts, a studio designs inside a system. Without them, the first project quietly builds one, and the quote has to include that time whether or not anybody names it.

  3. Revision rounds

Two rounds is standard. The third and fourth are where budgets go, and they are almost always caused by somebody seeing the work for the first time at the wrong stage.

  4. Copy

Headlines, captions and on-image text are writing, and writing is work. Some quotes include it and some assume you will send it. Check which before comparing two numbers.

  5. Licences

Fonts, stock elements and music for motion pieces all carry usage terms. A studio working from its own licensed library prices that in. One that does not will pass it on later.

The Five Line Items That Inflate A Quote Later

  • Extra sizes. Feed, story, reel cover, marketplace, display banners and a print version is six or more deliverables. Ask for them in the original brief and they are cheap. Ask afterwards and they are a change order.
  • Language versions. Every language is new copy, a new layout check and often a new font, every time.
  • Source files. Some studios deliver flattened files and charge separately for the editable ones. That is the file you need the day you want to change a price on an ad yourself.
  • Rush delivery. Compressing two weeks into three days usually means late nights rather than efficiency, and it is normally priced at a premium.
  • Additional stakeholders. Every extra approver adds a revision round in practice, whatever the contract says.

We quote fixed scope and fixed timelines, with the sizes, the source files and the licences written into the first number rather than the third.

What A Good Quote Looks Like

A quote you can actually compare has five things in it: the number of concepts, the number of finished deliverables including every size, the number of revision rounds, whether the editable source files are included, and the delivery date with the approval dates that make it possible.

If a quote is one line and one number, it is not cheaper. It is just deferring the conversation to a point where you have less leverage. There is a full breakdown of what to put in the brief in our guide to briefing a creative studio.

Where AI Genuinely Changes The Maths

For product imagery, scene variants and short product films, AI has moved real money. A catalogue that would have needed a studio day, a stylist and a photographer can now be designed from a few reference photos of the real product, and for most e-commerce use it holds up at the size it is actually viewed.

Where it has not changed the maths is the idea itself, anything that has to match a brand exactly the first time, and anything a person has to appear in and be believed. We wrote up the honest comparison in AI product photography versus a real shoot.

Common Questions

How much does creative design cost in India?
A monthly set of social post designs usually lands between ₹15,000 and ₹60,000, an ad creative set between ₹10,000 and ₹50,000, and a brand identity between ₹40,000 and ₹3,00,000, depending on concepts, revisions and whether a brand system exists.
Why do two studios quote so differently for the same brief?
Usually because they are quoting different work. Check the number of concepts, the deliverable count, revision rounds and whether source files are included before comparing the totals.
Is it cheaper to resize one design than to make several?
Almost always. A new concept is thinking time, a resize is craft time, so one strong idea in many sizes is the cheapest way to fill every placement.
Do you publish fixed prices?
We quote fixed scope and fixed timelines per project rather than a rate card, because the variables above genuinely change the number. What we do not do is leave sizes, source files or licences out of the first quote.
